She was also a very successful showjumper before starting her family and now enjoys passing on her knowledge to her children.

Tim Fairbrother BCA, BTSM, PFP

Financial Adviser & Certified Financial Planner

Tim has been a qualified, practicing financial adviser in New Zealand since 2008, setting up local financial planning business RIVAL Wealth at the start of the Global Financial Crisis. The business has seen consistent growth since this time, with Tim traveling the country visiting clients and speaking at seminars and events. Although RIVAL Wealth and RIVAL Accounting operate as separate businesses, the teams are both located at RIVAL HQ in Michael Street in the beautiful Wairarapa. Read Tim’s declaration here

Tim is a busy guy but when he does get the opportunity, there is a long list of things he enjoys doing. While spending time with his family takes the top spot, fishing and duck shooting are right up there, not to mention watching a good game of rugby! Taking care of his small farm brings him a lot of satisfaction and is a great way to get fresh air before a busy week begins.

Kirsty Tunnicliffe – AT

Practice Manager

Kirsty was born and raised in Carterton and is well-known in the community. After gaining her education at Makoura College, Kirsty finished school to begin her career in the accounting world. She has over 30 years of accountancy experience, including more than 20 years in the South Wairarapa. During this time Kirsty has worked with a large range of industries, including the agricultural sector and has been in management roles for most of her career.

Kirsty grew up in a busy household being one of six kids! Kirsty loves to relax by enjoying a good book, going to the movies or getting outside and gardening. A little known fact is that she worked as a builders labourer in her teens and as a result is still partial to a spot of DIY. Despite a dislike of frosty mornings she heads out for early morning walks every day and loves catching up with friends and family on the weekends.

Natasha Robinson

Senior Accountant

Tash worked for an accounting firm in the South Wairarapa for just over four years upon leaving school before changing careers and moving to a local car dealership in an administrative role. After 20 years, and keen to return to public practice, she joined RIVAL Accounting in 2019 and is now a senior accountant with experience across a range of different industries. Tash is passionate about helping clients and is a great problem sovler with an eye for detail.

Natasha is a local lass from Pirinoa and lives with her partner and 3 children on a lifestyle block in Carterton where she gets to indulge in her love of animals. Natasha enjoys playing competitive netball and along with her weekend sport, she thoroughly enjoys supporting her children’s sporting endeavors. And when time allows she loves to disappear into a good book.

Krystina Jackson – BBus Acc

Accountant

Krystina previously worked in sales and management in both the commercial and retail sectors before taking time to start her family and beginning her study towards a degree in Accounting. Krystina joined the RIVAL Accounting team in 2021 and through hard work and commitment, graduated a year later, becoming a qualified Accountant. Krystina enjoys being able to support clients to achieve compliance and meet their business goals.

Krystina moved from the Hutt Valley to the beautiful Wairarapa in 2020 and has settled down in Masterton with her partner and her three young sons.  Although life can be quite busy, Krystina loves to get out in nature and can often be found enjoying one of the many local walking tracks with her family. Kid’s sport, home renovations and catching up with family and friends quickly fill up the weekends.

Jemma Bale

Bookkeeper

Jemma’s background has been mainly working in the hospitality industry for over 10 years in the UK and New Zealand. In 2020 she worked in a bookkeeping role for a small business. She really enjoyed this role and wanted to further her bookkeeping knowledge in accounting. In 2022 Jemma joined the RIVAL Accounting team and now enjoys working with clients and helping them with their bookkeeping requirements.

Jemma was born in the UK and moved to New Zealand in her late teens.  As a busy mother of 3, Jemma takes every opportunity to explore as much as she can of New Zealand.  Her children are well accustomed to discovering new places to visit. She is relishing having a base in the Wairarapa, as the perfect spot to be part of a family-friendly community.

Georgina Kilmister

Bookkeeper

Georgina has spent time being a stay-at-home mum and is thrilled to be back in the workforce. She has completed half of her Bachelor of Accounting degree through Massey University. However, she has put this on hold to gain real-world experience in an accounting firm and still has time for her busy family life. As the wife of a busy farmer, Georgina understands the demands of rural life and thrives on a challenge.

Georgina was born and bred in the Wairarapa and moved around the Manawatu and Wellington regions in her late teens and early twenties before returning to settle in the Wairarapa. In her spare time, she runs around after her two kids and farmer husband while doing a small amount of volunteer work with Diabetes Wairarapa. If lost, she can usually be found in the kitchen or the garden if not out and about with her kids.

Megan O’Toole

Bookkeeper

Megan has extensive experience in various aspects of Administration, Bookkeeping, and Office Management, making her a versatile and invaluable asset to our team. Megan thrives on staying busy and takes great satisfaction in supporting her colleagues, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Megan was originally born in the Wairarapa, moved over to Wellington early 20’s and has recently moved back. A mum of two teenage girls, Megan is active and enjoys all most anything outdoors. Weekends are taken up with her horses, going on adventures with her dogs and generally being a menace to friends and family.
